Privacy policy
Updated: September 2026. This is a translation; the Hebrew version is the binding one.
LevelCast collects no information about you. No account, no sign-up, and no server of ours that receives any data. This document is short because there isn't much to say.
What stays on your device
Your library, queue, listening positions, downloaded episodes, captured moments and settings are all stored on your phone only, in the app's folder. They are included in Apple's backup if you turned it on, and are deleted when you delete the app.
Who the app talks to
- Apple: searching for shows and the top charts, through the public API.
- The producer's server: the RSS feed and the episode's audio file, directly.
- Spotify: only if you shared a link, to identify which episode it refers to.
In each of these requests your device talks to that server directly. The audio never passes through us. We have no proxy, no copy of the episode, and no log of what you listen to.
Audio processing
Volume levelling, intro detection and pace matching all run on the phone. No audio sample is sent anywhere.
Transcription
Transcription (live transcript and moment transcripts) uses iOS speech recognition, on the phone, on any device that supports it in the episode's language. On a device without on-device recognition, iOS sends the audio clip to Apple's speech recognition service and returns text. Even then it does not reach us.
Moments you capture
The audio clip and the text are stored on the device. They are sent only when you choose to share them, to the destination you choose, through the iOS share sheet.
Subscription
Purchases are made with Apple. We do not see or store any payment method. The app asks the device whether there is an active subscription, and that's all.
Notifications
If you turned on notifications for new episodes, they are created on the device after the feeds refresh. There is no notification server and no token sent to anyone.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date.
